Given the prominent place occupied by building and architecture in Masonic allegory, it is perhaps appropriate that Freemasons have had a major influence on building and architecture in Vancouver Island communities.

This is particularly true in Victoria, where many of the city's best known buildings were designed, or built, by Freemasons.
